Pre-CanPower

Targets 3-6 yr olds. Develops basic skating abilities, includes balance, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills.

Pre-CanSkate

Introduces children to the basic fundamentals of skating: turns, forward and backward movement. This course is taught by professional Skate Canada coaches and certified program assistants. Children between the ages of 3 and 6 who have never skated before should choose this program. Once they have achieved the stage 1 badge they will move into the CanSkate Program.

  • Helmet highly recommended
  • Must be at least 3 years old before September 1st, 2011

CanSkate

This program advances the child’s basic skating skills in accordance with Skate Canada’s CanSkate program. Each session consists of: warm-up, group lesson and cool down. All of the basic skills needed for figure skating, hockey and ringette will be taught. A ratio of 1:10 with a professional coach plus program assistants teach this course.

  • Helmet highly recommended

Juvenile

This session is a transitional program for skaters moving from CanSkate who have passed level 6 badge. Skaters are given a 15 minute group lesson and a stroking session, but for the remainder of their ice time they are to practice on their own or with an individually hired coach.

Level 1

  • Working on Preliminary Freeskate or Junior Bronze Freeskate
  • Passed all Preliminary Dances
  • Working with a Professional Coach.

Level II

  • Working on Senior Bronze Freeskate and up, or
  • Senior Bronze Dances and up, and working on Senior Bronze Skill (5) OR
  • Pro recommendation subject to board approval.

Adult / Teen Skate

50 minutes of ice time.

The Paris figure Skating Club is pleased to offer Adult/Teen Skate. This is an 8 week program designed to learn and improve on basic and mid level skating skills. A member of our professional coaching staff will provide group lessons for 15 minutes. You may also benefit from a private lesson with any of our professional coaches on staff. If you are and adult or teen skater looking to improve on mid to senior level skills, contact us and we will work with you to get you in the right program.
